About Liam

Liam's professional writing experience began at Sacramento City College's student-run newspaper, where he wrote as a staff writer for his final semester in Spring of 2022. Directly after his success with The Express, he earned a spot as a Summer intern for USA TODAY's evergreen writing team. There, he wrote over 40 articles, nearly all of which were published. Succeeding his tenure with Gannett, Liam interned with Capitol Weekly, Sacramento's local political publication, for the Fall 2022 semester, also his first semester at Sacramento State University.

While with the Panthers at Sacramento City College, Liam earned two associate's degrees: an Associate of Arts in Political Science, as well as an Associate of Arts in Social and Behavioral Sciences. Afterward, he transferred with a 3.9 GPA to Sacramento State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Journalism.

At Sacramento State, he continues his academic excellence with a cumulative GPA of 3.7 and a consistent presence on the Dean's Honor List. Furthermore, he gained experience as a leader, simultaneously serving as the Vice President of Member Development/Programming for the university's Sigma Phi Epsilon chapter and as a mentor to other students within the political science department's Odyssey Program. He also earned the Thomas Swift Government/Journalism Scholarship. He completed his bachelor's degree in May 2024.
